Williamson, PA Heating Oil Delivery:

Williamson Fuel Oil

Williamson Fuel Oil

Williamson, PA is a St. Thomas Township community located in Franklin County. While the residents enjoy the small-town feel, the winter weather can make it tough to keep a family comfortable! Williamson, PA homeowners deal with snow, sleet, rain, ice and frigid temperatures all winter long. Thankfully, Penn-Mar Oil Company offers cost-effective heating oil delivery to the greater Williamson area.

Williamson was platted in the 1870s and has had a post office since 1872. While the town has remained small throughout its existence, that doesn’t mean that it is lacking in history! Numerous mills and farms operated in the town throughout the 1800s and 1900s. Stitzell’s Mill was one of the most notable mills in the area. It was owned by William Stitzell, who leant the town his name.

Beyond the mill, the family also owned a farm and creamery. At its peak, the creamery produced almost 1,000 pounds of butter on a daily basis. The stone quarry located nearby grew so quickly that Hawbecker, the owner of the property, had to hire 25 men to staff it. The Southern Pennsylvania Railroad Branch regularly carried crushed stone and lime from the Williamson quarries to Hagerstown and other areas.

When the town was officially called Williamson, it had 14 homes, a gristmill, a sawmill, a creamery, two quarries, a wagon shop, four lime kilns, a blacksmith, a cobbler and a general store. Eventually, the town continued to attract workers and residents to create a vibrant, small, tight-knit community. Williamson, PA today is still a wonderful place to live.

If you are a Williamson, PA homeowner in need of a more affordable and high-quality way to heat your home during the winter, we can help. Penn-Mar Oil Company is always here for your family. To learn more about our services or schedule a delivery today, give us a call at (717) 276-9623
